Community College President Speaker Event with Dr. Jenni Martin, Ed.D President, Spokane Community College

The Community College Speaker Series, hosted by the Graduate School of Education (GSE), offers a series of panel discussion where community college leaders who are also GSE Alum, engage in open and honest dialogue that highlights their experience and insights. This series is valuable to current GSE students, prospective students that wish to enter the education sector, and anyone else who is interested in the current state of education.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Jenni Martin, Ed.D, President, Spokane Community College, will share her experiences as a community college leader, her challenges, and her thoughts on the future of higher education.

Jenni Martin, Ed.D. was selected to be the Acting President at Spokane Community College on May 1, 2023. Previously, she worked as the VP of Instruction, starting in 2017. She has worked at the Community Colleges of Spokane in various capacities, including dean of Extended Learning, assistant dean of Adult Basic Education, WorkFirst manager and adjunct faculty.

Prior to working at CCS, she was employed at Eastern Washington University (EWU) as the head women’s soccer coach and also served as faculty at EWU and CCS. She has a Doctor of Education degree from Northeastern University, a Master of Education degree in Adult Education from EWU and earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Gonzaga University.
